Sep 07 – He Will Revive!

“Revive us, and we will call upon Your name.” (Psalm 80:18)

Look at David crying out to the Lord, “Revive me, O Lord.” Yes, the Lord is the One who revives and restores. When others may think that a person will sink deeper into debt or that his business will wither away, the Lord is able to restore such a person wonderfully and give him a new beginning.

Are you sick? Have you become weak? Are you unable to fulfil the responsibilities you have toward your family? The Lord will revive you. The Bible assures us that the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead gives life even to our mortal bodies (Romans 8:11).

In times of weakness, look to the Lord and cry out, “Revive me, Lord!” The Word of God assures us that the prayer of faith can save the sick, and that the Lord will raise him up (James 5:15).

When a critically ill person is rushed to a hospital, the first concern of the doctors is to restore life and bring the person out of immediate danger. Once life has been restored, treatment is given so that the person may regain health and strength. What does the Lord, our Divine Healer, do? First, He gives life; and then He desires that this life may be lived in abundance (John 10:10).

Perhaps you or someone dear to you is sick today. Look to the Lord who possesses resurrection power. When you place your faith in Him, His mighty power can come upon the afflicted and bring restoration. Is He not the One who created you? He formed your bones, nerves, muscles, and every part of your body. The One who created you is able to restore and strengthen you.

He gave His own life so that you might have life. He offered Himself as a sacrifice and shed His blood to redeem you. He bore wounds and stripes upon His body for our redemption and healing. Will He not revive you? Will He not preserve and extend your days? Surely, He is able to perform a miracle.

When Lazarus died, his sisters did not fully understand that Jesus was about to raise him. Lazarus had already been dead for four days, and Martha even expressed her concern that there would be an unpleasant odour. But Jesus told her that if she believed, she would see the glory of God. Then, with divine authority, He called, “Lazarus, come forth!” What an astonishing miracle! Lazarus came forth alive.

Dear children of God, this same Jesus Christ is alive even today. He is unchanging—yesterday, today, and forever. There is nothing too difficult for Him.

When your strength is failing, do not surrender to despair. Look to the Lord who gives life, who restores what is broken, who strengthens the weak, and brings hope where everything appears to be lost. Cry out to Him in faith: “Lord, revive me!”
