Sep 14 – The Kingdom and the Power!

“And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:13)

In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus taught us to glorify the Lord by declaring, “For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.” Indeed, the kingdom, power, and glory are inseparably connected. If a king is to govern his kingdom well, he needs power. Without powerful forces to protect his kingdom, he cannot rule it in peace and security.

The power of our Lord is not merely the power by which He created all of nature; it is also the sovereign power by which He rules over all things.

“Power belongs to God.” (Psalm 62:11) When the Lord called Abraham, He said: “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.” (Genesis 17:1)

Therefore, keep looking to the Lord and praise Him, saying, “Lord, You are powerful. You are Almighty God.” As you do so, the power of Satan will be broken. You will no longer live in fear. Relying upon the power of the Lord, move forward with courage like a lion.

Speaking of Christ, the prophet Isaiah declared: “And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

He has the power to heal diseases. He has the power to break the backbone of the curse. He has the power to cast out demons. He has the power to raise the dead. He reigns with His mighty power.

Look to the Almighty God. He is able to work in you exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think. He is also able to preserve to the very end that which you have committed into His hands. Surely, He is able to perform a miracle for you today.

Abraham believed that God was able to give him descendants even when his own body had become as good as dead. Even when he laid his son upon the altar on Mount Moriah, he believed that God was able to raise him from the dead. The same Almighty God is able to preserve you from falling and keep you steadfast to the very end. He is able to present you faultless before His heavenly presence with exceeding joy.

Therefore, always depend upon the power of the Lord. Declare your faith and move forward in victory, saying, “The God whom we worship is able to deliver us, able to protect us, and able to lead us safely and faithfully all the way to the end.”

Dear children of God, do not measure God’s power by the size of your problem. Measure your problem by the greatness of your God. When you know that the kingdom belongs to Him and that all power belongs to Him, you can face every circumstance with confidence and faith.

Verse for further meditation: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)
