May 25 – I Have Chosen You!
“You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest regions, and said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away.’” (Isaiah 41:9)
When the Lord lovingly says, “You are My servant, I have chosen you,” it brings tears to our eyes. Yes—we belong to the Lord, and He belongs to us.
What blessings come to those whom the Lord has chosen? He promises: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish. You shall seek them and not find them—those who contended with you. Those who war against you shall be as nothing, as a non-existent thing.” (Isaiah 41:10–12)
The Lord places before us four kinds of people:
- Those who are angry with us
- Those who oppose us
- Those who fight against us
- Those who wage war against us
Yet He Himself stands on our side. He defends us. He fights for us. He causes them to come to nothing. What amazing love!
At times, you may feel: “I am like an orphan”, “No one is there to help me”, or “Who will stand for me?”. But the Lord stands beside you and says: “I have chosen you”; “I will strengthen you”, and “I will help you”
These promises are not just words—they bring comfort, strength, and assurance. If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31). We can boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” “I have set the Lord always before me; I shall not be moved.”
Continue to claim these promises: “For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’ Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I will help you,” says the Lord and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.” (Isaiah 41:13–14)
Verse for further meditation: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)
