May 15 – The Strengthening Helper!
“But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me…” (2 Timothy 4:17)
See how the Apostle Paul declares: “The Lord stood with me.” When the Lord stands with us, we are able to accomplish many things for Him.
When Jacob blessed Joseph, he said: “The Almighty… will bless you… with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies beneath…” (Genesis 49:25)
Yes, when the Lord is our helper, blessing, victory, and joy will always follow.
Paul testifies that the Lord not only stood with him but strengthened him. He was chosen to preach the Gospel to Gentiles, kings, and Israel—and to write many epistles that built the early Church. He boldly declares: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
Often, God calls those who feel unqualified. My father, while working in a government job, was called into full-time ministry. He felt completely inadequate—lacking strength, wisdom, and biblical knowledge. Yet, when God called him to feed His people spiritually and provide “daily manna,” he was overwhelmed.
But The Lord stood with him; The Lord strengthened him; and The Lord enabled him. He went on to preach the Gospel in many nations, write hundreds of books, and faithfully minister—because God helped him.
The prophet Isaiah declares: “Surely the Lord God will help me; who is he who will condemn me?” (Isaiah 50:8–9). And the Psalmist says: “Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice… Your right hand upholds me.” (Psalm 63:7–8)
Dear child of God, The Lord is always standing with you as your helper. Therefore, do not be afraid. Walk forward with confidence. For the One who called you will also strengthen you and stand by you.
Verse for further meditation: “Take courage and act, and may the Lord be with the good!” (2 Chronicles 19:11)
