May 11 – Victory Through Dying to Sin!

“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory? … Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:55,57)

Jesus rose again—triumphant over death, Hades, and Satan. He rose in victory and glory.

As His children, we inherit that victory and boldly declare: “O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?”

The truth that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again is a historical fact—no one can deny it. But if we treat it as mere history, it brings us no benefit.

Only when we personally come to the cross and say with faith: “You died for me”, “You were buried for me”, “You rose again for me” —then salvation becomes real in our lives.

But there is a deeper step that leads to a victorious life. It is this confession: “I am crucified with Christ”

“I am buried with Christ”, “I will live a victorious life through His resurrection power”. This is the secret of victory.

The apostle Paul declared: “I have been crucified with Christ”. “Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24) “The world has been crucified to me, and I to the world” (Galatians 6:14). This is how victory is lived out.

To live as one crucified with Christ means: standing firm with the assurance that sin and temptation cannot rule over you.

The Bible teaches: “We were buried with Him through baptism into death… that we also should walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:3–5)

If we are united with Him in His death, we will also be united with Him in His resurrection.

Dear child of God, if you have believed in Christ’s death and resurrection and have received baptism, then continually confess this truth and live a victorious life.

“For he who has died has been freed from sin.” (Romans 6:7). Victory comes when we die to sin and live in Christ.

Verse for further meditation: “If we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.” (Romans 6:5)
