May 08 – Victory Comes from the Lord!

“The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the Lord.” (Proverbs 21:31)

Once, I met an elderly couple who were living in poverty. Yet they loved the Lord deeply. They not only educated their children but also nurtured them in faith in Christ.

All nine of their children grew up, completed higher education, and were well settled in life. The Lord had commanded victory in every one of their lives.

Parents can provide good food, fine clothing, financial support; but if they do not give Christ to their children, they can never achieve true glory, excellence or success in their lives.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and loving Him is the beginning of victory. No matter how hard children may study or strive, it is the Lord who grants success. That is why Solomon wrote: “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory belongs to the Lord.”

God promises to make His people like strong horses in battle (Zechariah 10:3). Whether you are preparing for exams, seeking a job, expecting a promotion, the Lord will position you for victory.

Dear child of God, let His presence always be with you. In every effort, make Him your priority. The Bible says: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33). “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:6).

God promises: “My Presence will go with you.” (Exodus 33:14). He goes before you, removes obstacles, and opens doors (Micah 2:13). Whatever the problem may be, the Lord will command victory for you.

Joshua and Caleb were not afraid of the giants in Canaan or its fortified cities. Instead, they declared: “If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land… we are well able to overcome it.”

(Numbers 14:8)

Dear children of God, lift your voice and praise Him: “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57)

Verse for further meditation: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” (Psalm 32:8)
