Sep 26 – God Was With Jesus!

“God was with Him, and He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts 10:38)

God the Father was always with Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came into this world in human flesh and blood like us. His presence and fellowship were continually with Him. Therefore, Jesus went about doing good and bringing blessing to those around Him.

If you desire to go about doing good on this earth and become a blessing to others, the Lord’s presence must continually be with you. Make it a matter of utmost importance to ensure that you are walking in His presence at all times.

Scripture tells us that Samson did not know that the Lord had departed from him. What a solemn warning! Let us therefore be careful to remain continually in the presence of the Lord, so that His presence and the Holy Spirit may never depart from us.

Samson had compromised the consecrated life to which he had been called by pursuing relationships with immoral women. As a result, he eventually lost the awareness of God’s presence and power. What a tragic condition!

The Father was continually with Jesus. Even from His youth, Jesus grew increasingly in the grace of God, as we read in Luke 2:52. When the presence of God is with us, we too will grow in His grace. Because the good Lord is with us, we will naturally become people who go about doing good.

Jesus was deeply conscious that the Father’s presence was always with Him. He said: “And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” (John 8:29)

When we surrender ourselves completely to please God above everyone else—not merely people, our community, or even our relatives—the presence of the Lord will continually remain with us.

Even when Jesus was only twelve years old, we see His desire to remain in His Father’s presence and to please Him. During the Passover, Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem and His parents were not aware of it. When Mary and Joseph realised that He was missing, they returned to Jerusalem and searched for Him. Finally, they found Him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

The entire life of Jesus was characterised by pleasing the Father, doing His will, doing good on earth, and showing compassion to the poor and needy.

Dear children of God, Jesus Himself is our perfect example. Just as the Father was with Jesus, the Lord desires to be with us. When we walk in His presence and seek to please Him, our lives too will become channels of blessing to others. May we walk continually in the presence of the Lord, grow in His grace, please Him in all that we do, and spend our remaining days doing the works He has entrusted to us.
