May 21 – He Will Lead You by His Mighty Power!

“You in Your mercy have led forth the people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation.” (Exodus 15:13)

The Lord is our Shepherd, and we are the sheep of His pasture. Just as a shepherd gently leads his flock, the Lord leads us tenderly. Therefore, we will neither lack nor be brought low.

A shepherd does not lead all sheep in the same way:

  • He leads the weak ones gently
  • He guides the pregnant ones carefully
  • He carries the injured ones on his shoulders

In the same way, the Lord leads each of us according to our condition—with love and wisdom.

The Israelites were a vast multitude, yet for forty years in the wilderness, the Lord led them wonderfully. Because He led them:

  • Manna fell every morning
  • They had quails when they desired meat
  • Water flowed from the rock when they were thirsty
  • Their clothes did not wear out
  • Their feet did not swell (Deuteronomy 8:4); and
  • They moved forward with supernatural strength.

The same God will lead you too.

Whenever we travel to a new place, we depend on a guide to lead us, explain things, and help us through difficulties.

Likewise, in this journey of life, we need a guide: One who can lead us in truth; One who can take us safely to the eternal kingdom. That Guide is our Lord Jesus Christ—the Bright Morning Star. He will lead us faithfully.

God led the Israelites, as a pillar of cloud by day; and as a pillar of fire by night. These guided them until they reached Canaan. Today, the Holy Spirit leads us continually.

Those who have surrendered their lives into His hands are truly blessed. If the Lord is with you:

  • Heaven itself is with you
  • He will supply grace for the journey
  • He will give strength, power, and provision
  • He will lead you every step of the way.

Verse for further meditation: “Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth!” (Psalm 80:1)
