Sep 08 – He Will Revive Relationships!

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me.” (Psalm 138:7)

In rural areas, when the rainy season begins and the first rains fall, the trees that have been withering under the scorching summer heat are revived. The barren-looking ground soon becomes green with fresh grass. Seeds that had lain dormant in the soil for a long period of time sprout and grow into beautiful plants. The rain brings life and freshness to the crops. What joy it brings to see everything coming alive again!

In the same way, the Holy Spirit possesses life-giving and restoring power. The Bible says: “He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” (Romans 8:11)

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing.” (John 6:63) “For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” (2 Corinthians 3:6) The Lord is able to revive broken relationships and restore what appears to be beyond repair.

A sister once gave her only daughter, who had been saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, in marriage to a man who was working abroad. After the wedding, the husband remained in India for a few days and then returned overseas. He told his wife that he would arrange the visa for her and then come back to take her along with him. But many days passed without any communication from him. Suddenly, one day, the sister received a divorce notice from him.

Devastated, the mother went straight to her prayer room and began to pray with tears: “My God, revive my daughter’s family life. Revive this broken relationship. Will You not restore this family so that my daughter may once again rejoice and be glad in You?”

She continued fasting and praying for many days. During that time, a divine presence enveloped her, and a river of peace began to overflow deep within her heart. She completed her fast and came out rejoicing.

What a wonder! The hand of the Lord intervened. In an instant, the Lord turned the heart of her daughter’s husband and filled him with divine love. Within a few days, the man returned to India and earnestly asked his wife to come and live with him. That family was restored and became a joyful and harmonious home.

The mother then continued to pray for her son-in-law: “My God, just as You saved my daughter and filled her with Your Spirit, save and fill her husband also.” Within a few days, he too experienced salvation and gave himself to the Lord to serve Him together with his family.

The Word of God says: “And so it is written, ‘The first man Adam became a living being.’ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” (1 Corinthians 15:45)

Dear children of God, do not give up on broken relationships. What appears dead and beyond restoration is not beyond the reach of the Lord. Continue to pray, believe, and entrust your loved ones into His hands. The Holy Spirit who gives life can breathe new life into wounded hearts, broken homes, and relationships that seem to have reached their end.

Verse for further meditation: “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).” (Ephesians 2:4,5)
