Oct 22 – Be Faithful!

“Believe in God, believe also in Me.” (John 14:1)

Faith has the power to replace anxiety with peace and joy. The Scriptures declare, “Whoever believes will not act hastily” (Isaiah 28:16), and, “This is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith” (1 John 5:4). Those who overcome the world need not live in fear or anxiety.

Today, many people place their trust and confidence in human beings, money, family connections, and worldly relationships. Whom have you placed your faith in?

Jesus Christ said, “Believe in God, believe also in Me.”

The Bible teaches that without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever comes to Him must believe that He is and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

The very foundation of the Christian life is faith. When the Apostle Paul spoke about the elementary principles of the faith, he specifically included faith towards God (Hebrews 6:1).

Therefore, if you desire to build your life upon Christ, the sure foundation, and grow into a spiritual house that pleases God, believe firmly in Him.

Almost everything in the Christian life flows from faith.

Faith Brings Salvation: We are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8). A person should come to baptism only after believing that Christ died for him, was buried, and rose again. Jesus said that whoever believes and is baptised will be saved (Mark 16:16).

Faith Receives the Holy Spirit: Faith is also essential in receiving the anointing and fullness of the Holy Spirit. Jesus declared that whoever believes in Him would experience “rivers of living water” flowing from within. John explains that Jesus was speaking about the Holy Spirit, whom those who believed in Him would receive (John 7:38–39).

Faith Receives Healing: Do you desire divine healing and health? You need faith. Scripture teaches that the prayer of faith can bring healing to the sick, and that the Lord raises them up (James 5:15). Therefore, when you are sick or facing physical weakness, bring your need before the Lord in faith and trust His power and mercy.

Faith Leads to Holiness: Faith is also necessary for growth in holiness. Acts 15:9 tells us that God purifies the heart by faith. As we place our trust in Christ, He cleanses our hearts and transforms our lives. Faith is not merely believing that God can do something for us; it is trusting Him sufficiently to surrender our entire lives to Him.

Faith Gives Victory: Those who trust in God become victorious people. “This is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” (1 John 5:4)

Faith Gives Life: Faith also brings life. Martin Luther was deeply transformed by the truth of Scripture: “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17) He came to understand that the Christian life must rest completely upon faith in God and His grace. Jesus Himself said: “Because I live, you will live also.” (John 14:19) What a wonderful assurance!

Verse for further meditation: “If you would believe you would see the glory of God.” (John 11:40)
