May 12 – A Decision to Overcome!

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” (2 Corinthians 2:14)

Decide today—to live in victory upon victory and to overcome every temptation. Dedicate yourself to a life of victory. The Lord desires that you should always triumph.

Make this confession of faith: “I shall be the head and not the tail; above and not beneath.” “Thanks be to God who gives me the victory through Jesus Christ!” (1 Corinthians 15:57)

Jesus Christ never knew defeat. He is the Victorious Christ—the Mighty One of Israel. He went before Israel as a conquering King, defeating nations and granting victory over kings. The same Lord will surely grant you victory.

What should you do?

  • Do not allow any thought of defeat.
  • Do not speak negative words.
  • Reject discouragement.
  • Be filled with the Spirit of God and bold confidence.

Declare with faith: “Today, the Lord will do a miracle for me and give me victory!”

Many people speak words of defeat, and say “Why was I even born?”, “It is better to die than live.”, “All others are getting elevated, but I keep falling.”, “It is all my fate.” Such words should never come from a child of God.

You are a child of the King of kings. When that is the case, why should you live life like an orphan? Christ has already finished everything for you on the cross—why should you live in weakness or lack? The One who causes you to triumph in all things is with you.

In times of battle, when enemies surrounded him, King Jehoshaphat spoke words of victory because he had a right revelation of God: “O Lord God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven…? In Your hand is power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You.” (2 Chronicles 20:6)

Dear child of God, you follow the Almighty God. And nothing is impossible for Him.

You may face struggles in this world—but do not be shaken. The battle belongs to the Lord. Defeat belongs to Satan. And Victory belongs to you. Give thanks to the God who gives you victory!

Verse for further meditation: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me…” (Psalm 23:4)
