Aug 27 – Never Alone!

“And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” (John 8:29)

What a blessed testimony it is to say, “He has never left me alone. He has never departed from me or forsaken me. His presence, His fellowship, His power, and His grace continually sustain me.”

Loneliness is always painful. But a life of loneliness without God is especially distressing and dangerous. Satan often takes advantage of those who are isolated. He brings laziness, discouragement, fear, and unbelief. A lonely heart can easily become a workshop for the enemy.

The Lord longs to replace your loneliness with His glorious presence. He desires to come into your home, dwell with you, and walk among you.

When God saw that it was not good for Adam to be alone, He gave him a suitable companion (Genesis 2:18). Likewise, because it is not good for believers to remain spiritually isolated, He has given us the fellowship of other believers and the gathering of the church. So that we may never be alone in our spiritual walk, He has also granted us the anointing and the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

One day, Eve wandered alone in the Garden of Eden, apart from her husband. Satan took advantage of that isolation, deceived her, and led her into sin. Likewise, the traveller who journeyed alone toward Jericho fell among thieves, who wounded him and left him half dead. Loneliness can be dangerous.

Consider the grief of a woman who had lived happily with her husband, only to lose him suddenly and find herself standing alone as a widow. Think of parents living apart from their children, carrying them continually in their hearts with deep longing. Or imagine someone alone in a small boat at sea, drifting without direction. In such moments, loneliness can become overwhelming.

David once poured out his anguish, saying: “I lie awake, and am like a sparrow alone on the housetop.” (Psalm 102:7)

Perhaps you, too, are walking through such a season of loneliness. Today, invite the Lord to be your constant companion. Declare in faith: “He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” (John 8:29)

Before you do anything, pause and ask yourself: Is this pleasing to the Lord? Will this bring Him delight? Let every decision be weighed in His presence.

Dear child of God, dedicate yourself to doing only those things that are pleasing to the Lord, and you will never have to walk alone.
