Nov 02 – The Glory of the Lord!
“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1–2).
As time passes, this world is moving towards greater darkness and deep gloom. It is heading towards the brutal reign of the Antichrist. The powers of darkness are growing stronger, and Satan is performing great signs to deceive many.
At the same time, we are hastening towards the glorious coming of the Lord. Jesus Christ will descend from heaven in the glory of the Father, with the trumpet call of the archangel. The dead in Christ will rise first. Then those of us who are alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to be with the Lord.
When darkness and deep gloom cover the world, why does the glory of the Lord rise upon you? It is so that you may arise and shine for the Lord: “Arise, shine; for your light has come!” (Isaiah 60:1).
This present age of grace is a precious opportunity to serve the Lord powerfully. Work for Him as much as you can, and share the Gospel with as many people as possible.
The glory of the Lord that rises upon you carries light and radiance. The God who commanded light to shine out of darkness will cause you to shine before the people. Just as He created the moon and stars to give light during the night, He has placed you as a shining light in this dark world.
Sin is darkness, while the Gospel is light. Sin brings darkness into the human soul. The ruler of the kingdom of darkness has blinded the minds of many and kept them bound in darkness. When you preach the Gospel, its glorious light dispels that darkness and brings the light of heaven. Then people come to understand eternity and learn about the glorious heavenly kingdom.
Children of God, let the light within you grow brighter day by day, so that you may walk as children of light. Preach the Gospel of glory to the people with all your might. The coming of the Lord is very near.
Verse for further meditation: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
