May 31 – No More Barrier!
“Pass through your land like a river, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no more strength.” (Isaiah 23:10)
The prophet Isaiah declared judgments over many nations, and finally spoke to the daughter of Tarshish saying, “Flow through your land like a river; there is no restraint for you.”
We ourselves are like rivers of the Lord—flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. From within us shall flow rivers of living water. Rivers are a great blessing to a land.
Sometimes, people build dams to stop the river from flowing freely, storing up the water instead. But the Lord does not delight in us being stagnant. He desires that we flow. He breaks every barrier and lovingly declares, “Flow freely—you have no dam!”
In one family, a sister had received gifts of healing and prophecy from the Lord. She was prayerful and had a strong desire to rise and shine. However, her mother-in-law did not permit her to go for ministry, constantly complaining and hindering her.
One day, the Lord intervened. He removed the barrier and desired to lead her into ministry. The Lord poured His Calvary love into the mother-in-law and gave her a burden for souls. Within a short time, both mother-in-law and daughter-in-law began serving together. It became a double blessing—the wisdom of the elder and the spiritual gifts of the younger worked powerfully in ministry.
Are there barriers like dams in your life today? Are you unable to rise and shine as you ought to? The Lord desires to remove every such obstacle. The Bible says: “The one who breaks open will come up before them; they will break out, pass through the gate, and go out by it; their king will pass before them, with the Lord at their head.” (Micah 2:13)
On one hand, the Lord is the One who breaks barriers. On the other hand, He makes the crooked places straight. He makes a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Children of God, do you feel blocked or restricted in your life? Today, the Lord arises as a mighty One on your behalf. He will grant you freedom in your spiritual life, revival in your ministry, and a greater harvest of souls.
Verse for further meditation: “The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; … you shall see disaster no more.” (Zephaniah 3:15)
