May 10 – Victory is Yours!
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)
The word defeat brings sorrow and discouragement to the heart. But the word victory fills us with joy and causes us to praise God.
The Lord has not promised us partial victory—but complete victory. Through the One who loves us, we are more than conquerors.
Our Lord Jesus Christ—the victorious Christ—has never known defeat.
- He is the triumphant One of Israel
- His name is the Lord of hosts
- He crushed the head of Satan
- He overcame the world, the flesh, and the devil at Calvary
His entire life was a proclamation of victory. And after overcoming, He inherited the Father’s throne (Revelation 3:21).
Whether it is kabaddi in villages, football in cities, or cricket at the national level—everyone desires victory. When India plays cricket against Pakistan, people gather eagerly to watch, hoping for victory. That same kind of expectation exists in heaven.
The Lord watches our lives from above: When the world, the flesh, and the devil fight against us, do we stand victorious? Or do we fall into temptation and discouragement? Just as He overcame, He desires that we also overcome.
That is why, in the book of Revelation, the Lord repeatedly encourages the seven churches to overcome. The phrase “he who overcomes” appears again and again.
And finally, He promises: “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” (Revelation 21:7)
Heaven is filled with those who overcame. No one who remains defeated in sin and temptation can inherit it.
Dear child of God, even if you have faced failures in the past, rise again in the name of the Lord. Overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of your testimony. A life of consecration, spiritual decisions, and fervent prayer will surely lead you into victory.
Verse for further meditation: “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57)
