Nov 06 – Through Dreams and Visions!

“Your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions” (Joel 2:28).

The Lord gives us dreams and visions to speak to us. In these last days, He continues to pour out His Spirit on all flesh so that He may speak to us. Through the Holy Spirit, He is bringing heaven and earth together.

As the latter rain is poured out in our midst, prophets are rising among us. Evangelists are rising, along with those who do great things for the Lord. Moreover, our older men receive visions, and our young men dream dreams.

When we read about Joseph in the Old Testament, we find that he was known as a dreamer. From his youth, the Lord communicated with Joseph through dreams and revealed the future to him.

There are three kinds of dreams. The first kind consists of dreams that are fulfilled in the lifetime of the person who receives them – for example the dreams of Joseph. Most of the dreams he had in his youth were fulfilled later, when he was exalted in Egypt. Because the Lord had given Joseph dreams and visions beforehand, he was able to move forward joyfully along the difficult path he had to travel.

The second kind consists of dreams and prophecies, such as those given to Daniel, whose fulfilment would take place after a long period. Some portions of these dreams are yet to be fulfilled. Through his dreams, Daniel also came to know about the thousand-year reign and even about eternity.

The third kind of dream involves seeing events as they are taking place. Just as we can watch events happening in any part of the world, including events involving spacecraft, on television while sitting here in India, the Lord graciously enables us to see certain events as they unfold.

A dream is a divine language. Sometimes we can understand a dream directly; at other times, it appears in the form of a parable. The Lord may also conceal its meaning as a mystery.

Children of God, the Lord will speak to you through dreams. The dreams and visions He gives have deep meanings, and He will reveal their meaning to you.

Verse for further meditation: “Then He said, ‘Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream’” (Numbers 12:6).
