Jul 16 – Success This Day!

“O LORD God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham.” (Genesis 24:12)

Some matters seem to remain delayed despite our earnest prayers and efforts. We long to receive God’s blessings, yet the fulfilment appears postponed. In such times, let us pray as Eliezer prayed: “Lord, grant me success today.”

The Lord is the One who causes a matter to prosper. Without His favour, no matter how hard we strive, our time, resources, and efforts may prove fruitless. Therefore, whatever task lies before us, let us seek Him with a sincere heart and pray, “Lord, prosper my way today.”

Abraham entrusted his servant Eliezer with a significant responsibility—to find a suitable wife for his son Isaac. It was a task that required wisdom, discernment, and divine guidance. As Eliezer set out on this important mission, he prayed earnestly:

“O LORD God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham.” (Genesis 24:12)

The Lord answered his prayer immediately. Just as Eliezer had hoped in his heart, Rebekah appeared and willingly offered water not only to him but also to his camels. Through this remarkable providence, Eliezer recognized that God had led him to the right person.

When he saw the Lord’s hand at work, he responded with worship: “And I bowed my head and worshiped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the way of truth.” (Genesis 24:48)

Perhaps your children’s marriage arrangements have been delayed. Perhaps your plans to build a home have not materialized. Perhaps obstacles have arisen in your children’s careers, education, or future prospects.

Like Eliezer, pray: “Lord, grant me success today.” Surely the Lord will encourage you with good news. He will open a way where there seems to be no way. He will reveal the path you should take and personally lead you by His hand.

Rejoice and praise the Lord. Today may be the day when your burdens begin to lift and His peace fills your heart. Faith will arise within you as you declare: “The Lord has taken up my cause. He will guide me. He will take responsibility for my concerns. Everything will work together according to His good purpose.”

When that confidence fills your heart, praise and glorify Him.

Children of God, today can be a day of divine accomplishment.

Verse for further meditation: “Today the LORD has accomplished salvation in Israel.” (1 Samuel 11:13)
