Jul 11 – Another Sign!

“And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.” (Revelation 12:3)

The Bible begins with the words, “In the beginning” in the book of Genesis, and as we come to the latter chapters of Revelation, our attention is repeatedly drawn to “heaven.” This reminds us that those who begin their journey with Christ will ultimately find their place in heaven with Him.

The word heaven carries several meanings in Scripture. It can refer to the sky where birds fly, the expanse where the sun, moon, and stars move, the heavenly realm where spiritual forces operate, and above all, the dwelling place of God—the Paradise of God, the new heaven, and the eternal kingdom where righteousness dwells.

Just as there are many signs that point to the return of Christ, Scripture also speaks of signs associated with the rise of the Antichrist. Satan has established his throne in the spiritual realm and commands hosts of evil powers. While believers joyfully look for the coming of Christ, they must also remain watchful and discerning regarding the deceptive works of the enemy.

The Apostle Paul wrote: “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish.” (2 Thessalonians 2:9–10)

Throughout history, many political movements have sought greater global unity, centralized authority, and international cooperation. Such developments remind us that the world is continually moving toward conditions that could one day make global leadership and control possible. Scripture urges believers to be spiritually alert and to view world events through the lens of God’s Word.

Therefore, as you observe the signs of the times, do not be distracted by fear or speculation. Rather, let them stir your heart to greater readiness for the return of Christ.

Children of God, read the book of Revelation again and again. It is a book that points our hearts toward the blessed hope of Christ’s return. As the signs of the times become increasingly evident, let us prepare ourselves with reverence, holiness, and expectancy.

May we live each day as those who are eagerly awaiting the coming of our Lord.

Verse for further meditation: “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:36)
